Power Profile

A.W.B 433
Yanmar Australia

Another successful repower replacing an old Detroit 6-71 with a YANMAR 6CH. The installation was carried out by Sydney Harbour Boatbuilders on this beautifully restored ex Australian Navy workboat built by J. Botterill and Fraser in 1944.

The vessel performs flawless with its new engine with greatly reduced noise level in the cabin compared to the old 6-71 Detroit with no oil fumes. The owner wanted something more reliable with good fuel economy while still giving good performance, which the YANMAR 6CHE3 delivers.
