In 2021, Jill and Mick, an ordinary couple with a shared love for the ocean, embarked on a life-changing journey, documenting their fishing and exploration exploits in the stunning waters off the northern shores of Australia. Their YouTube and Instagram channels gained a devoted following as they showcased their adventures aboard their dream trailer boat, the 2400 Kevlacat Weekender named Heave Ho. Having covered nearly 2000km over two months during an epic trip, living on the boat, the couple continued sharing their seafaring escapades with their captivated audience.
Ocean adventures and a love of Scimitar Catamarans
After coming to the realisation that their adventures demanded a vessel with more space, power, and speed, Jill and Mick embarked on a quest for a new boat. Having always held a love for Scimitar boats and hearing a constant stream of positive reviews, their latest announcement introduced a new chapter in their maritime story — the acquisition of “Snooks Too”. A Scimitar 1010 in need of some love and the “Jones” touch.
The couple wasted no time, transporting Snooks from her old home at Hope Island to the Rivergate Marina and Shipyard in Brisbane, under the iconic Gateway Bridge. Collaborating with Scimitar Power Catamarans, they embarked on a comprehensive makeover journey.

The boat, carrying 20 years’ worth of gear, shed its load, making room for new adventures and two brand new Yanmar 110HP common rail engines. Revolution Power Solutions is installing a cutting-edge power system featuring 600Ah of lithium batteries. Additional enhancements include new style spray deflectors on the bows, Trim Tabs on the stern, and two more Garmin Multifunction Displays (MFDs) to complement the existing 12” screen.

As they bid farewell to Heave Ho and usher in the new era with Snooks Too, Jill took on the task of giving the boat a fresh look, spending hours on the steamer to remove the old stickers and unveil a vessel almost ready for a new chapter of exploration. With more exciting upgrades and add ons to come, the couple can’t wait to get this beauty on the water, with a possible lap around Australia in the making.
