ePropulsion, a global pioneer in electric marine propulsion, has unveiled Spirit 2, the newest evolution in its renowned Spirit series. Marking a decade of innovation in clean, efficient electric boating, Spirit 2 delivers an exceptional combination of power and portability, redefining what boaters can expect from a compact electric outboard. Designed to offer powerful performance without sacrificing portability, Spirit 2 blends high-efficiency engineering with intelligent, user-friendly design to set a new benchmark for small electric outboards.
Powered by a 2 kW motor, Spirit 2 combines lightweight construction with a robust design, making it ideal for a wide variety of small-boat applications. A newly introduced 3 kW Boost Mode offers an instant surge of power when conditions demand it, without compromising the system’s signature efficiency and quiet operation. The motor is paired with a 1539Wh quick-connect battery, the largest in its class, delivering extended range, reliable performance, and the confidence to stay out on the water longer.
“Spirit 2 embodies our vision for the future of electric boating, where power and portability go hand in hand,” said Danny Tao, Co-founder and CEO of ePropulsion. “We’ve taken everything users appreciated about the original Spirit and advanced it further to create a solution that delivers greater power, enhanced portability, and intelligent control. It’s built to elevate the on-water experience for boaters everywhere.”
Built with simplicity and convenience in mind, Spirit 2 pairs a compact 10.2-kilogram* motor with a 10.4-kilogram battery, offering outstanding portability on and off the water. New user-focused features including a detachable clamp, foldable tiller, and quick-connect battery system make transport, installation, and storage effortless, make transport, installation, and storage easier than ever. A full-colour display and adjustable-length tiller add to the overall comfort and control, delivering a smooth, intuitive boating experience.
A range of functional upgrades make the Spirit 2 ideal for practical, everyday boating. Features such as shallow-water trimming, a 90-degree tilt function, an integrated steering lock, and a kill switch with pigtail line enhance safety and convenience in all conditions. The motor also includes ePropulsion’s advanced hydrogeneration technology, allowing the system to produce electricity while sailing between 3 and 16 knots. Capable of generating up to 380 watts at 10 knots, this feature helps extend battery life on longer journeys and boosts overall efficiency on the water.
In addition, Spirit 2 includes an added practicality with a 45W USB-C output for charging devices on the go. For even greater versatility, an optional battery inverter can transform the Spirit battery into a portable power station, ideal for off-grid adventures or emergency use.
On the water, Spirit 2 delivers impressive performance. With a top speed of 9.5 knots, a single charge offers approximately 54 minutes of run time at full power, 1 hour 48 minutes at half power, and up to 3 hours at quarter power, depending on conditions. The system is fully compatible with ePropulsion’s 48V platform and E Series batteries, and it supports solar charging as well as integration with third-party energy systems, including Victron Energy. This attention to practical, user-centric design has earned Spirit 2 a DAME Design Award nomination, highlighting the product’s advances in usability, performance and design.
From day sailing to fishing or tender transport, Spirit 2 is engineered to support a wide variety of boating needs with a focus on performance, sustainability and simplicity.
The Spirit 2 will be available through authorised Power Equipment Dealers starting early 2026.
