Pop’s Last is a Commercial Fishing Trawler based at Nelson Bay, built in 1948 for the current owners father, also a commercial fisherman, hence the vessels name.
The 6HA2-WHT(H)/YX120L replaced an Iveco 8210 engine rated at 220hp @ 2200rpm.The vessel has undergone an extensive fit out whilst on the hardstand for the engine installation, bringing the trawler with a long and proud family history back to her former glory.
The owner Geoff Sproule was very pleased with the extra power and performance of the Yanmar in particular the quiet operation throughout the rev range.
