Power Profile

Lady Eugenie
JD_logo_PowerProfile

In 2018 it was decided an upgrade to the propulsion system for the 22m charter yacht Lady Eugenie was required.

The vessel was performing poorly in only moderate headwinds and with a busy charter program to implement in sometimes difficult weather conditions and other factors the decision was made to fit a John Deere 6068.

In the 12 months since the John Deere 6068 was installed we have logged around 500 hrs in a variety of sea, and weather conditions.

The engine has proven to be an excellent match with the vessel and the performance in all conditions has been greatly improved.

Notably the vessel can now maintain 7 to 8 knots motoring into 25knot winds – compared to under 5 previously – and without having to increase revs and push up fuel consumption. The vessels operation and efficiency has been greatly improved with the upgrade.
