When Sydney based high profile corporate events specialist Bob Stanton went looking for marine diesels to repower his corporate charter vessel, local marine surveyors and naval architects pointed him to one brand for his beloved ‘Island Club’ luxury cruiser- Yanmar.

“My new Yanmar diesel propulsion package has greatly improved my hull performance and reduced my fuel costs by a third,” said Bob Stanton.

“Our standard 4 hour cruise used 150 litres with our old diesel engines, and now my new Yanmars only use 100 litres for the same cruise. MV Island Club now has smoother acceleration, less exhaust emissions and an improved top speed from 9.5 knots to 11 knots.”

“My criteria for the new units were that I didn’t want electronic engine management, they needed to be heavy duty and they had to mate up successfully with my existing dry exhaust system. The Yanmar 6HA2-HTE engine package has delivered on all accounts”

“I had a great team of people involved in the installation from Mobile Marine Repairs in Taren Point, the local authorized Yanmar marine dealer. It was not an easy task for them to get the new engines in through the side of the hull but they were up to the job. To end up with a complete Yanmar package, (main engines, marine transmissions and generator) all sold and serviced by the one distributor Power Equipment Pty Ltd was an added bonus”.
